A little girl is found near the mountains with a note saying to take her to the nuns. The nuns refuse to take her in and she is taken back to the house of the professors in Vienna. They name her Annika. She grows up there, with a wish of finding her long-lost mother. After quite a few years she befriends an old woman who has a mysterious past full of plays, gems and mystery. Suddenly, the old woman dies. What will happen? Will Annika’s wish come true? Annika is about to learn a very important lesson of caution.
This book was very exciting and I couldn’t put it down.
