She hopes you will accept the enclosed card, which bears her handwritten signature." Dame Campbell-Preston was sister-in-law of Joyce Grenfell who unexpectedly found fame. As a young woman, Campbell-Preston was despatched to Canada to stay with the Governor-General, Lord Tweedsmuir (the author John Buchan). She was later to become Lady-in-Waiting to Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.
