The latest book which has just been published is Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows is the seventh and last book in the series and the enthusiasm of the public remains undimmed. Unusually, the special edition has been published simultaneously. July 2008: A signed first edition set of Harry Potters attracted much interest when it was sold earlier this month for £17,800 by Cameo Auctioneers in Berkshire.
October 2008: Following J.K. Rowling's recent endorsement and donation of one million pounds to the Labour Party, it has been revealed that she is the world's top-earning author, earning a staggering £6 per second.
December 2008 The Tales of Beedle The Bard, first mentioned as a plot device in Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, consisting of five tales, is published by Bloomsbury.
February 2009. J. K. Rowling has received the Legion d'Honneur from President Nicolas Sarkozy in the Elysee Palace in Paris. After the ceremony, J. K. Rowling revealed that her great-grandfather, Louis Valont, a French hero of the First World War, had also received the Legion d'Honneur for his exceptional courage before and during the Battle of Verdun.
