Although this novel was published two years ago, it has a resonance today.  Thomas Legendre, a former economist and university lecturer in Arizona, now lives in Edinburgh.  This is his first novel, which was initially rejected by US publishers.    Compelling story of a young American lecturer attempting to resolve the conflicts in his personal and academic life  -  as an economist, he is confronted with the realisation that endless growth is not necessarily an environmentally sound proposition.
